About khs-instruments

Since 1993 we design and manufacture hardware and corresponding software* for our customers in industry, universities and research institutes.

It is our business to find the best solution together with our customers.

Over the years khs-instruments is structured as a micro-company with a very high level of automation.

The workflow of electronic devices starts with

- bom generated from the layout,
- a component database with all relevant informations,
- automatic price calculation,
- automatic generation of order list,
- automatic generation of pnp data,
- automatic stock update,

and ends with an test protocol generated by an automatic test using a product specific test adapter connected to a standardized connector to the test instrument(s).

The design of the test system is modular and independent of the specific commands or interfaces of the used test instruments, so the time required to adapt test programs to other products or to change a test devices is reduced to a minimum.

So due to the high automation level a micro-company reduces the dependence of personal knowledge required for production dramatically.

Similar processes were realized to improve the efficiency of the mechanical production processes. One example is the SMT-PCB-A4 manual frameless stencil printer.

The described structure of the realized micro-company reduces the time required for administration, production and test to a minimum.

This level of automation leads to a high level of quality and low production costs even for low volume products with a long time between two orders.

Our actual focus on design & development is:

- Reusable FPGA modules.
- High speed , low noise signal conditioning.
- Driver.
- Firmware (modules).
- Improving self tests.
- Improving log file structure for better error analysis.
- New development tools.
- Mechanical prototyping with CNC mill and other tools.

*Our products include software and drivers for win XP / W7 / W10 / W11 (32+64) operating systems
